I’m Obsessed With This Amazing Cucumber and Mint Gin and Tonic

We’ve gotten super into gin lately. And it was purely inspired by one of the wedding venues we went to look at in Philadelphia. It was Canopy by Hilton and they had the COOLEST bar so after our tour we sat down for a drink. They specialize in gin drinks and although I’m more of a tequila drinker, we felt inspired to try one out…it would have been rude not to right?! Well, they hooked us because we’ve been trying gin drinks since. And today I have a GOOD ONE. Do I always say that? I swear I mean it. This cucumber and mint gin and tonic is the perfect twist to an OG drink. Enjoy!

Cucumber and Mint Gin and Tonic

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 cucumber slices
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 2oz gin
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2oz soda water
  • Cucumber ribbon – to do this, slice your cucumber as thin as you can from top to bottom. No peel.
  • Mint for garnish

What to do:

1. In your shaker, muddle cucumber slices. We muddled them HARD.

2. Add mint and muddle for a few more seconds (mint doesn’t need a lot of muddling). Very minimal actually.

3. Add gin, lime juice, simple syrup to your shaker.

4. Shake!

5. Pour over ice.

6. Add your cucumber and mint garnish. I like to add the cucumber ribbon after pouring because it’s easier for me but this was also my first cucumber ribbon.

7. DRINK. REPEAT. YOU KNOW THE DEAL.

What I used:

  • These glasses – I use them for a ton of different cocktails! (check out my full roundup of cocktail glasses here, there are some great marg ones)
  • This cocktail mixing glass that is super easy for stirred or shaken cocktails.
  • Annnnnnd I was over our plastic shaker so I decided to buy this metal shaker and I love it.
